Our Story
From the desert with love
Umnya’s story started with a chance meeting deep in the heart of the Sahara desert between our chief nomads; Anas and Salah. Anas, with a background in luxury tourism was introduced to Salah, a true nomad living in the desert, during an excursion. They spent hours getting to know each other, talking about their lives, the nomad lifestyle, the desert, how they are living and happy with nothing, smiling all the time and dancing rain or shine.
Anas and Salah connected instantly, they were both in awe of the magical land that surrounded them - completely disconnected with reality. After receiving phone calls from Salah everyday, for 15days following their first meeting, Anas agreed to return to see the land…a vast and breathtaking space that was was soon to become home to Umnya.
Within three months, Umnya Dune Camp was born. It’s entirety is built upon foundations of a love for the desert, and true nomadic lifestyle.
So, our nomads now invite you to decompress amongst the rolling dunes and omnipresent sand. Forget the busy tempo of daily life, and as the sun sets fast, red and gold; watch as the night donates one of the desert’s greatest gifts; a darkness only to be found in such isolation.

The Royal Suite: Noor
A luxury suite, perfect for families, couples, and friends. The spacious suite is 8m x 5m and offers complete privacy from the rest of the camp, being separated by the rolling dunes. It bodes a private terrace, comfortable lounge area with writing desk, Moroccan floor cushions & table, private en-suite with eco-toilet, shower, towels and toiletries, heater, private terrace with seating and your very own camp fire.
Additional beds and cots for children are available upon request.

Superior Suites
Our additional tents offer ample space for small families, couples and friends. These tents offer a space of 7m x 4m, double or twin beds, open lounge for relaxing in, a small table, private terrace, heater, private ensuite shower room, towels & toiletries.

Trekking with nomads
We are true nomads which means we know the Sahara in a way that no one else does, which means that we can design any trek you want. Treks can start and end at any desert location and last for any number of days. You may wish to travel directly to the desert to trek or you may wish to incorporate the trekking experience as part of a longer tour of Morocco. Whatever your wishes, we can help you with our free travel planning and fully bespoke service.

Were you born to be wild? Our experienced drivers will show you the dunes like never before. You will be collected from our camp and taken to the most stunning spots in the Sahara, just sit back and enjoy the views.
